Dispenser Care and Cleaning

Clean Your Dispenser With Every Refill.

Avoid Overfilling: Leave approximately a thumb-width of empty space between the soap and the top of the bottle. Overfilling can allow soap to enter the foaming chamber and interfere with the pump.

Check the Pump Tube: Make sure the small tube leading to the pump is not pushed too far into the pump or pressed tightly against the bottom of the bottle. Gently pull it out slightly if needed. You'll see a small glass ball above the tube—make sure it has enough room to move freely, as airflow is necessary to create foam.

Flush the Pump Regularly: We recommend flushing your pump with every refill to help prevent soap and mineral buildup. Mix 1 part white vinegar with 2 parts warm water in a glass. Place the pump straw into the mixture and pump several times to draw the solution through the pump. If this doesn't work, try an undiluted vinegar rinse.

Next, pump clean warm water through the pump several times to rinse. If you have hard or undrinkable tap water, use distilled water instead.

Don't Soak the Pump: Never soak or submerge the foaming pump in water or cleaning solution. Instead, draw the cleaning solution through the pump using the straw.

Clear the Foaming Chamber: If you notice soap or water inside the foaming chamber, remove the pump, turn it upside down, and pump several times to help clear the chamber.

Clean the Exterior: Wipe the outside of the pump with a damp, soft cloth to remove soap buildup. Avoid harsh chemicals and abrasive cleaners, which may damage the finish.

Glass Base Care: The glass base is dishwasher safe, but the pump is not. The glass can also be hand washed with warm water and soap.

If Your Pump Stops Foaming: A pump that begins sticking, dribbling, or producing watery or reduced foam may simply have soap buildup inside the foaming mechanism. Try the cleaning steps above before replacing the pump.

Use Foaming Soap Only: Foaming pumps are designed for soap formulated specifically for foaming dispensers. Regular thick liquid hand soap can clog the mechanism and may not foam properly.

Pump tops may be exchanged or refunded up to 6 months after purchase. If you experience any issues or receive a defective pump, please contact us — we’re happy to make it right.
