We are a small, family-owned business that is passionate about sharing natural skincare products with Columbus and the world!  

There are really just 3 typical roles in our business and the best candidates are able to float between roles as needed. We have a fair amount of flexibility to accommodate schedules.  

An example of this flexibility was an employee who worked in production part-time, 3 days a week from 5pm-8pm. This worked for her since she had a day job and she didn't want to work retail. It worked well for us since she could make a batch of soap late in the day that needed to cook overnight.

So when applying, please let us know as specifically as possible about the type of roles you are interested in, if you are looking for full or part-time employment, and which days/hours you are available. We need to staff retail operations during hours we are open to the public, but have some flexibility for scheduling other roles before and after that.

Good Things to Know Up Front

> Our part-time positions typically start at $14/hr and our full time experienced employees are making $20+/hr. All employees earn PTO starting day one: one week the first year, then 2 weeks and up. All employee enjoy a 40% discount on new product and there are lots of testers, seconds, etc. to take home. We do not currently provide health insurance benefits. Although not a formal part of our compensation package, we have routinely distributed discretionary year-end  bonuses based on our profitability, employee hours and tenure. In the last distribution, many bonuses were the equivalent of $1.25/hr - $2.25/hr.

> We are open and accepting and like tattoos. We have fun and care for each other, and we try to leave grumpy and whiny at home. 

> We are flexible to accommodate family schedules and life events, but we are small (3 PT and 3 FT employees plus the founder) so its important to show up when scheduled and bring a "What can I do to help?" mentality to accomplish  whatever needs to get done!

> Retail hours are Mondays 10am-6pm,  Tuesdays-Thursdays 10am-4pm, Fridays 10am-6pm, and Saturdays 10am-4pm.

Retail Sales Associate

ROLE: In this role, you’ll be on your feet and moving much of the day, shifting attention between customers, retail tasks and operational functions. Key functions include opening or closing the shop, greeting and educating customers, completing retail sales, managing merchandising, organizing and stocking shelves. Operations includes picking and packing web orders, labeling and date coding products, organizing and cleaning. Prior experience in retail, customer service or other selling situations is great, but not necessarily a requirement.

FIT: The right person for this role has an outgoing personality, day-long positive energy and the ability to delight customers with your interactions. You will be our brand ambassador so you need maturity and self-motivation, ability to work independently and to take ownership for helping run your part of the business. Be dependable and show up when scheduled. Ability to work some or all weekends a plus. A compatible philosophy and passion for health, wellness and the environment.

Production Associate

ROLE: This is a hands-on, physical job working directly with our Soapmaker to produce, bottle, label and package our products. Key functions include following recipes, weighing, measuring and blending ingredients and recording notes; operating filling and labeling equipment requiring repetitious hand movements. Disassembling, cleaning and reassembling bottling and other equipment, manually applying product labels and date codes; washing dishes, tools and equipment. You will be routinely lifting buckets and other items weighing up to 40-50 lbs. You will also be trained to work in our retail store, greeting, assisting and checking out customers. We have some flexibility to adjust the hours for this position, say coming in early or working later in the day or even evening.

FIT: The right person for this role is hard working, has excellent attention to detail and accuracy, good math skills and neat handwriting, good eye-hand coordination, mechanical aptitude and has pride in craftsmanship. They enjoy being physically active and find it rewarding (even calming) to complete repetitive motions for an hour or two at a time. They can be counted on to be dependable and show up when scheduled and have the ability to work occasional weekend days. Basic computer skills.

Soapmaker Apprentice

ROLE: You will apprentice directly with our Soapmaker to learn how to make, package and label our products.

FIT: Ideal candidates will have excellent attention to detail and accuracy, good math skills and neat handwriting, good eye-hand coordination, mechanical aptitude to follow recipes, weigh and measure ingredients and has pride in craftsmanship. They will have mechanical aptitude to operate scales, mixers, filling, labeling and other equipment.  Good eye-hand and ability to perform repetitious tasks.  Ability to lift buckets or boxes up to 50lbs.  Ability to work safely while operating machines, handling certain chemicals and performing lifting.  Knowledge or experience with natural products, essential oils, cosmetics or skin care experience is a plus.
